Public Policy Events

DeVry Education Group is an active participant in educational policy discussions at the state, federal and international level, working to ensure that the needs of our students are a priority. Members of our senior leadership team, as well as our campus leadership, are often called upon to share their expertise with policy makers. DeVry Group also holds an annual policy forum in Washington, D.C., as well as regional policy discussions, on topics relevant to higher education and workforce development.

DeVry Public Policy Forum 2011: “Empowering the New Majority: Strategies to Help Low-Income and First-Generation Students Succeed”

DeVry Inc. hosted the second annual public policy forum in conjunction with The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education in May 2011 in Washington, D.C. The Pell Institute released its latest study at the forum, “Promising Practices Supporting Low-Income, First-Generation Students at DeVry University,” followed by a discussion on increasing access and educational opportunity for this important population of students.

DeVry Public Policy Forum 2010: “The 2020 Imperative: College Attainment and U.S. Workforce Development”

In May 2010, DeVry Inc. hosted the first annual public policy forum to bring together policy leaders in Washington, D.C. for a discussion with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and an expert panel about the link between greater college attainment and the ability of America’s workforce to compete successfully in the global economy.
