President, DeVry Online Services
Eric Dirst was appointed President of DeVry Online Services for DeVry Education Group in 2013, with responsibility for managing online student support, online curriculum development, and centralized operations for all DeVry Education Groupís North American institutions and one of the largest educational online operations in the U.S. He is also the senior leadership sponsor of the Academic Quality Council, which reports to the Board of Directors at DeVry Group.
Dirst has 28 years of experience within the information technology field. Dirst first joined DeVry Group in 2008 as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). During his tenure as CIO, DeVry Group was named to the InformationWeek Top 500 list for IT Innovation (2009-2013) and earned a spot within the Top 100 in 2011. In addition, International Data Group's Computerworld recognized DeVry Group as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology in 2013.
Before joining DeVry Group, Dirst served as Vice President and CIO of SIRVA Inc., a global provider of relocation and moving services for consumers, corporations and governments. While in this role, Dirst was responsible for implementing a modern and agile set of cloud applications for agent partners and customers, building a word-class security environment, integrating three acquisitions onto a common platform in the U.S., and then doing the same with multiple acquisitions in Europe. Before SIRVA, Dirst held senior positions with firms including IQ4hire Inc., KPMG Peat Marwick, and Covansys, a NASDAQ company which was acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation in 2007.
Dirst is also an advisory board member for the startup company IT Central Station.
Dirst holds a Bachelor of Science double major in business operations and applied computer science from Northern Illinois University.
